Description

Health and Safety Representatives help develop, maintain and implement first class health and safety policies, ensuring they are constantly updated and current with legislation. They ensure implementation of all current health and safety legislation, helping to develop and review procedures and policies.

$36,400 to $80,000
Duties
  • Carry out Health and Safety audits and inspections required to cover all work activities
  • Conduct basic training courses on site following the agreed procedures and formats
  • Undertake site monitoring and assessment of documents
  • Investigate accidents as required
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of new legislation on Health and Safety Matters
Working Conditions
  • Work both indoors and outdoors, wearing protective or safety attire 
  • Must be sure that all details of the job are done so that legislation is met 
  • Must be very exact to prevent safety hazards
Essential Skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability to present and conduct training
  • Work independently and take on responsibilities ensuring issues are resolved
  • A thorough working knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation
Education
  • A diploma in Occupation Health and Safety or related discipline at a community college
  • A member of the Certified Registered Safety Professional
